These lamps have been specifically designed for lighting operating tables. With their IR coating and xenon gas filling, they can produce more than 50% more light once installed in the optical system. The infrared coating reduced, outraged, the amount of heat emitted by the lamps by sending most of the heat back to the filament. This causes an increase in lamp efficacy on the order of up to 30%.
